2016 was a good year for the real estate market in East Idaho.  Each County from Bingham (Blackfoot) north to Fremont (St Anthony & Island Park) had an increase in the number of homes sold.  Some counties saw some significant increases while others were more modest.  Another key indicator of an improved market is the number of days a home sits before selling, that number was down 24% when comparing with the days on market in 2015.  Prices continue to increase as  the market strengthens and inventories are low.

So are we in a buyers market or a sellers market?  The numbers would certainly indicate more of a Sellers market and I would agree with that to a certain extent.   It is still a good time for buyers to buy, rates are still low.  If you are a buyer, now is the time to make a move before rates increase.  If you are a seller, now is the best time in years to sell your property and move up to a new or bigger home...you too can take advantage of low interest rates.   If you are interested in finding out the value of your home, contact us for a free market analysis.
