As we all know mother nature can do crazy things. Just yesterday Rexburg was hit with a heavy down pour and hail storm that left homes and apartments with flooding water. The storm last approximately 45 mins. The drain systems on the roofs of some of the campus buildings as well as the sewer and drainage infrastructure in town could not handle the amount of water from the storm causing them to overflow and flood basements as well as 2-3 feet of flooding above ground level. There was so much water coming into the drain systems, that it was blowing manhole covers off of streets, and water was shooting up all over the city and then flooding the streets.
